The Haven is an open door ministry where everyone is welcome.
Included are children, teens, and adults with special needs, their families and many friends of all ages. It is an experience of radical inclusivity where God uses our differences to teach each other. In the Haven we worship God together through joyful play and sharing, music, video, prayer and "pizza outings." Every week a simple life-changing message is taught using a Jesus-centered approach.
We invite you to join us Sunday mornings in the gym at Oakdale HS. The Haven community is not only a place for special needs people but also an open door for all God's special people with needs.
Other Haven Activities
The Haven works to actively facilitate inclusion of those with special needs into other church programs such as Weekly Freestyle Youth Church and Teen Small Groups (Alien Nation). In addition, the Haven provides an experience of "reverse mainstreaming" whereby typical children, teens, and adults are an integral part of the community.
The Haven desires to reach out to the surrounding community to welcome, encourage and support them. We want to invite all to come join us. We welcome the opportunity to consult with anyone interested in starting a special needs ministry at his/her place of worship. We also operate a non-profit called Haven Universe,Inc.
